“The realization that wholeness comes from self reflection and a dive into the depths of the shadow. An exploration of the dark caverns to find the glimmering gems at the core. Light and color into shadow and fog.”
Farber's practice involves introspection and mirroring internal experience of growth outwardly into tangible form. Writing and journaling karmic journeys and outwardly expressing the experience onto the canvas, creating a guide for the evolution of the soul. The resulting abstractions in their immediate surface appearance evoke subjective experiences expressed with an objective perspective, an absorption of the people around him and artists of the past reflects these influences back on himself in his work.
Devon Farber is a painter born in New York in 1983 to a family of artists. He studied painting, sculpture and installation at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. His work has been shown nationally and internationally, including The 3rd Mykonos Biennale, SMFA in Boston and various galleries in New York. He currently works out of his studio at Mana Contemporary.
